As I sit in the study searching the net,
A noise is heard like mice scurrying,
I listen closely waiting for it to stop,
But no, on it goes.
Then it changes to a tap.
Tap Tap tap.
I stand and creep across the landing
I reach the big white door
My hand rests heavily on the handle
Tap tap tap, then a giggle.
A bead of sweat trickle down my forehead.

Silence, the still calm, nothing.
I release the handle and side step away.
Returning to me chair and resume my search,
Tap, giggle, scratching noises begin again.
Standing quickly I leave the study,
I drop to floor hands in the form of T
I roll slightly to the door,
feet in position to allow me to stand at the end of the roll
Hand on the handle, ear to the door
Nothing !!!

Decision time, stay out or go in ?
What to do, what a to do,
Time creeps on hours it feels like
Stood listening at the BIG white door.
Actually it was seconds , barely a minute.
Giggle, Tap and a scurrying sound.
I turn the handle and slowly open the door…..

It is  bedtime, come on Son back into bed.

The sloshing  sound  of  the water against the boat woke her up. How long had she been drifting, where was  she.   this is what went through her mind. The morning  mist swirled of the water   the bulrushes  where long and thick. She lay back into the boat  calmly. Then sprang up, ” I am on boat !! What the fuck!!”  she shouted.  Looking around  the side of the rowing boat she was in. Heather  spoteed that the boat had come to rest at an old jetty  on the left  side were blurshes. on the right the river and the far bank. in front  as behind the river stretched in both directions.  The mist limited the  view in all directions only shadowy outlines of  trees and  farm buildings could be seen.

Turning her attention to the boat she found no oars, bags  or anything just her and the clothes she was wearing and the boat. “Shit, well isn’t this a barrel of laughs”.
